Anthony appreciates that over his lifetime, he will serve patients from a wide array of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds. This incredible diversity will bring with it unique patient values and priorities that have a significant impact on medical care. As such, Anthony believes that in order to best help future patients, increasing the diversity in medicine is imperative.
Ankoor Talwar is a senior medical student at Albany Medical College. He is completing the Leadership in Medicine BS/MBA/MD Program (LIM) at Union College-Clarkson Graduate School-Albany Medical College. He completed a B.S. in Chemistry and Economics and a concurrent M.B.A. in Healthcare Administration. He is also pursuing an M.D. with Distinction in Research at Albany. Ankoor has been involved in PremedHQ for 6 years and has now coached several successful students. He plans to pursue a career in reconstructive plastic surgery.
Ankoor is passionate about improving diversity in the medical field, specifically as it pertains to socioeconomic diversity. He is committed to providing guidance to those who otherwise do not have access to resources. In doing so, he hopes medicine will evolve to improve care for marginalized and disadvantaged patients.
Stuti is passionate about pushing representation in the medical field, especially for women of color. She wants to work with a diverse group of students and expose students of all backgrounds to the opportunities that lie in medicine. Stuti hopes to share the insights she has gained from her college application experience with her mentees to help them achieve their goal of becoming a physician.
Anish strives to advocate for increased diversity in medicine as he believes it is imperative to give each and every individual a fair chance to pursue their passion for healthcare. He is excited to be involved with DIME to directly communicate, engage, and inspire minorities within underserved communities to pursue their medical dreams.
Aryan has always had a passion for helping others, whether through research, nonprofit endeavors, or clinical experiences. He looks forward to bringing his premed experience to the table and sharing it with the hopes of promoting further diversity and inclusion within medicine. He is thrilled to work with the people and resources behind DIME to bridge the gap between underserved communities and the medical field.
